SAN FRANCISCO (PRWEB)
(2008-Nov-10) -- Utah Street Networks and New Systems Associates today entered into an operating agreement to manage www.tribe.net [Tribe.net, one of the first social networking sites], add competitive social networking features to the site, and revitalize the Tribe community.
The first priorities for New Systems Associates are to stabilize the platform and improve the site's performance. To accomplish these goals, the company is committing substantial resources to upgrade Tribe's hardware and application. The hardware migration will begin immediately, resulting in better performance and stability users expect from a world-class social network. New Systems Associates will also add new features to improve connections within the Tribe community and to other social networks and widgets.
In the longer term, New Systems Associates will grow the Tribe community by developing features including advanced privacy features, profile control, regional relevancy, personal discovery, and free-range connectivity. The company is committed to strengthening Tribe's alternative community and the unique ways in which users interact.
"This is nothing but good news for the Tribe.net community," said Darren Mckeeman, Tribe.net's IT Director. "New Systems Associates will inject sorely needed resources and manpower into the management and everyday operation of Tribe.net. They will develop the site along the growth path that has already been established."
Utah Street Networks, Inc. is the owner of Tribe.net, one of the oldest social networking sites on the Internet and pioneers of social graphing.
New Systems Associates is an LLC formed by long-time Tribe members who believe in protecting and expanding Tribe's unique culture.

funny that this comes by way of a tribe friend on the east coast and not from Tribe itself. :-P

Re: PRWEB: New Tribe mngmnt agreement with New Systems Associates
Sat, November 22, 2008 - 10:17 AMthis press release was posted here by me, not someone from tribe. all i'm asking for is a little direct communication here, not via PRWEB and not via a press release that tribe can't even release to its own members.
it's not a lot to ask for one single posting here from someone who really knows what's going on so that we know what's going on, and so tribe doesn't continue to have people fleeing its site. that they have only 2 people on their payroll is not our fault and does not diminish or negate the need to communicate clearly with their users. yeah, we're getting this mostly for free, but if they want to keep users, a few words typed here might help save them users, time, and grief.

Re: PRWEB: New Tribe mngmnt agreement with New Systems Associates
Sat, November 22, 2008 - 10:59 AMyou're making the assumption that someone does know what's going on...it's not a lot to ask for the system to work properly, but it doesn't, because they're out of money and personnel right now, we're in a moment of total transition and hopefully total overhaul right now.
the customer service desk is closed, if you haven't noticed.

Sat, November 22, 2008 - 12:42 PMyes, of course, you are right. i shall close my mouth, stop my fingers, disengage my brain and proceed exactly as you see fit.
thank you for your correction. what the hell was I thinking? i shall try not to have a different view from yours concerning tribe ever again.
jeez dude, you don't like my idea, fine. glad you know everything going on in the background with tribe, doesn't mean everyone does. no need to be a condescending sh*t about it.

Re: PRWEB: New Tribe mngmnt agreement with New Systems Associates
Sat, November 22, 2008 - 12:51 PMi love your idea, don't get me wrong...but i have a feeling they'll let us know if and when they can.
and as far as what i know about what's going on at tribe, i guess i'm just not too lazy to read recent threads in admin related tribes and pay the slightest bit of attention before feeling entitled to service...the answer to your question has been in plain sight for six months or so.
have a great day.

Sun, November 23, 2008 - 12:28 AMHi.
The PRWEB post pretty much said it. NSA is running and paying for Tribe right now. We're trying to fix the things that are broke and build a better place.
It's a lot of work.
