Promising economic news that is beneath the Histrionic ( all No’Bama all the time) media hype:
Re-fi mortgage applications rose by 41.5%.
Source the Mortgage Bankers Association announcement just last week
Just this last February New Home sales rose 4.7%

Tue, April 14, 2009 - 8:46 AMExcept the part about the unemployment figures we based on a broader definition during the Reagan administration, so we have much higher unemployment now if you adjust to that standard, almost double the reported figures.

Re: Things are better than the media is letting on
Fri, April 24, 2009 - 2:38 PMI have often wondered at the value of the doctrine of freedom of the press when the press is so terribly mis-informative.
They don't tell you what they don't want you to know.
They use hystrionic language to give legs and buzz to information they want to have on your front burner.
They down play information when it conflicts with that which they want to push
They even tell outright falsehoods
And they are purely profit driven.
Really, why should these people have some special constitutional protection?
I understand the sacred idea associated with a free press but when has the media ever met the expectations inherent in that whole idea? I say they have never been valid honest or through.
Even the "Shot heard 'round the world" was rigged by false media publications deliberately crafted to get the colonists all up in arms at and out in the street spoiling for a fight exactly the same time a lot of armed Red Coats were marching into Boston.
