No offense, but I've been with you guys for almost 2 years now & see now that this site has completely gone down the shitter.
-Dead Tribes that just hang around with no one posting in them for months on end.
-EXTREMELY slow loading times. Today, it took my homepage over a minute to load. And that happens ALL THE TIME.
-Frequently shutting down the entire site for "maintenance" for hours & sometimes a WHOLE DAY. Thats just unacceptable guys.
-A complete lack of any sort of innovation.
I could go on, but I think thats enough. Seriously, are you guys even trying anymore?? If you're gonna just sit around with your thumbs up your butts, lets get it out in the open & say it so we can either try to fix it or just move on.
Im under the impression that if you're just gonna let the site stagnate, just shut the damn thing down. Don't half-ass it because its insulting to yourselves & to your users.

And no, I am not suggesting you leave . That is your choice, stay, or don't stay. Maybe you can look at the positive, instead of the negative. You can always leave for awhile, and come back. Then see how much you missed it or not. If you are not getting what you want and/or expect out of it...well, then?

Look, My Space loves people who whine about life in general, point the finger at everybody else, and don't offer any solutions. You can even customize your page to your heart's content. If it is unacceptable, walk your talk: Don't accept it, unsubscribe, and move on. If you feel like an insulted user: move on. But don't expect your rant to be greeted with love by the people of whom you issue accusations or those of us who support them.
Ad-free Subscription Service. Premium Accounts for $5/month. If only 100,000 of tribes users buy that service, that will bring in $500,000 per month. Then those that are willing to pay about half the cost of a single movie ticket for a month's worth of ad free service can help support those that work on Tribe, who in turn can hire additional staff and maybe even get an engineer or two. -

Listen, the more you guys bash comments like mine & refuse to face the reality of things, the closer you are to losing this site. Don't come back at me personally & tell me to go to another site or any of that lame shit. Thats not the point here. Any of us could go to another site at any time. Im trying to bring attention to the situation. But from the lack of traffic & comments here, it seems no one cares.
And a pay service?? Please. No one is gonna pay to use a social networking site, especially this gimped up one, ads or no ads. Not saying its not a nobel effort, but that aint gonna work.
Look, its plain to see that the site is sinking FAST & wont survive. That is unless it gets help from the top. And its obvious they don't care. The admins are basically non-existent, they don't communicate with the users, the site suffers from increasingly rampant outages, a lack of progress with the site, etc. What do you think that all means?? Its not good at all.
Unless something drastic happens, I guarantee you this site is dead within the next few months. But keep bashing me though if it makes ya'll feel better. -

But coming on here and bashing the very forum within which you are communicating, using terms such as "pathetic", "sinking fast", "your standards are non-existent", "don't half-ass it", and not offering a single solution is pretty close to trolling. Power to you, but it isn't going to be greeted with much love from those of us who are actually interested in seeing tribe.net stabalize and prosper.

Sat, November 10, 2007 - 7:13 PMI LOVE tribe and would be soooo bummed if it left. Low standards or whatever Kerry, I love it. I hate myspace and livejournal and havent even tried the others. OH I tried Bhuz once but the bellydrama got a bit hot so I bailed.
One of my peeves is when people complain but dont offer solutions. If you are "trying to help" as you stated above, then contact staff and ask what you can do TO help rather than post complaints. -

BTW, has there been ANY word at all from staff regarding some of the proposed ideas, such as the subscription fee?? Bottom line is, the members dont control Tribe. So all these ideas are pointless unless we get staff members chiming in as well.
I think they should, at the very least, let us know exactly whats going on. If the site is already too far gone & they know the end is near, they should tell us. -
